V Soft Lift threads are a revolutionary method for restoring and maintaining a youthful appearance without surgical intervention. The procedure uses fine threads to lift and tighten facial skin, giving a natural result. The threads also stimulate collagen production, helping the skin achieve a smoother and more youthful appearance.
Restore facial freshness
A young and healthy face has a ‘V-shape’. As tissues age and are affected by gravity, the volume of facial fat pads and muscles decreases, skin elasticity diminishes, and supporting structures weaken. As a result, the ‘V-shape’ gradually disappears, the face becomes longer, more square-shaped and appears older. Cheeks, jawline, and eyebrows droop and the skin on the neck becomes looser. Many patients over 35 (and sometimes younger) may experience a reduction in the contour of the nose, mouth and jawline to a greater or lesser extent.
V Soft Lift is a technique that originated in the East and was used to elongate the round faces typical of the East. V Soft Lift uses the same threading principles, but with modified thread placements. In the past, most people needed surgical treatment to lift sagging facial and neck skin, as there were no very effective non-surgical procedures. Now there are!

WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW?
Additional information on the procedure
What are V Soft Lift threads?
V Soft Lift threads are innovative and strong PDO (polydioxanone) threads that allow you to safely and effectively lift facial and neck tissues and stimulate the production of new collagen.
The result is natural and you can resume your daily life immediately after the procedure. V Soft Lift does not replace surgical treatment but delivers remarkable results. If the tissues are very loose and the effect achieved with the threads is not sufficient, the only next solution is surgical treatment. Facial threads are fully absorbed within six months.
How do facial threads work?
The V Soft Lift series includes two types of threads – mono threads or meso threads and barbed or ‘toothed’ threads. Threads are guided into the skin or under the skin through a small hole using a cannula, creating a ‘scaffold’ to support tissues.
Barbed or ‘toothed’ threads are thin but strong; they attach to the skin with special barbs, allowing the skin and underlying tissues to be immediately lifted to help restore the ‘V-shape’ of the face. In addition, a localised inflammatory reaction occurs under the skin around the threads and barbs, which stimulates the production of new collagen and thereby increases skin volume, improves skin structure and elasticity.
Mono threads or meso threads are smooth and are placed in a mesh-like pattern within the skin. Mono threads primarily improve skin texture, with minimal lifting effects. Both the threads themselves and their insertion with a cannula stimulate collagen production around the threads and improve blood supply to the treated area. Mono threads can be used anywhere on the body.
Which areas can be treated with facial threads?
Although V Soft threads can be placed almost anywhere, including the body, they are most effective on the neck and jawline.
What are the benefits of V Soft Lift facial threads?
V Soft Lift threads are most effective for sagging skin in the lower part of the face, where it is difficult to achieve a good effect only with botulinum toxin or filler injections and which is otherwise treated by significantly more invasive surgery. Threads can effectively lift sagging skin on the cheeks, chin area and neck as well as lift the corners of the mouth and eyebrows.
The facial thread procedure provides multiple results:
- Immediate lifting effect of facial tissues and skin
- Correction of facial contours and jawline
- Production of new collagen in the skin
- Skin tightening
- Results last an average of one to two years
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure usually takes 30-60 minutes.
Does it hurt?
The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and is usually only slightly painful or mildly uncomfortable.
How long do the results last?
The initial mechanical tightening effect from the threads will further improve over the following months as new collagen begins to form around the threads. After about six to eight months, the threads are fully absorbed and collagen is completely formed, but the lifting effect will last for another six months or more due to the formation of new collagen, its rejuvenating effects on cells and its tightening properties. The results usually last about one to two years, depending on age, lifestyle and skin type, and can last longer if you take good care of your skin and avoid the sun and smoking. Threads can be added, if necessary. This is usually done after three to four weeks. It is recommended to repeat the procedure once a year.
Are facial threads safe?
All V Soft Lift threads are FDA approved and PDO threads are among the safest materials that can be used in the body. PDO threads have been used in orthopaedic, plastic and ophthalmic surgery for over 30 years. It is important to know that these are not traditional permanent threads, PDO threads are fully absorbed within six months and cause minimal tissue irritation.
Who are V Soft Lift threads suitable for?
- People with signs of sagging skin – drooping eyebrows, cheeks, sides of chin / loss of chin contour / loose neck skin. They often begin to appear easily at the age of 35+.
- Patients who have developed some skin laxity following previous surgical face or neck lifts.
- People who do not want to undergo a surgical face or neck lift because of the high cost, long recovery time, higher risks or other reasons.
Can facial threads be combined with other procedures?
Threads can be successfully combined with other procedures, such as botulinum toxin, fillers, microneedling, laser treatment, etc. Generally, these procedures are performed a few weeks apart, but if necessary (e.g. if the client is unable to return after a few weeks), certain procedures can also be performed on the same day. Fillers are usually injected a few weeks after threading, when the effect of the threads can be better assessed. Then the cheek and chin contours and other areas of the face can be finally shaped with fillers. About two weeks before the procedure, it is recommended to inject botulinum toxin to relax the muscles that pull the facial tissues downward.
Threads, filler, botox or other procedures?
Each procedure has its own indication and one cannot replace the others. Generally speaking, while botulinum toxin is most effective for smoothing wrinkles caused by facial muscles in the upper third of the face, fillers are most commonly used for contouring the mid-face, cheeks and lips, and threads are best for lifting and shaping the lower face. These methods are most often used in combination.
For example, it is not wise to inject fillers as the first choice for correcting the jawline or tightening the lower part of the face, where the result may appear too heavy due to tissue sagging. First, the face should be lifted and then the contours can be shaped. Similarly, fillers, needling, dermarollers, mesotherapy, laser procedures or chemical peels cannot reduce the dynamic wrinkles of the upper face as effectively as botulinum toxin.
However, when combined, they improve the results even more, and several of the aforementioned procedures designed to improve skin structure are indispensable for achieving brighter, more youthful and elastic skin.
Before the procedure:
As with many other treatments and injections, it is advised to avoid taking blood-thinning medications (aspirin, ibuprofen), consuming alcohol or taking certain supplements (St. John’s wort, fish oils, Gingko Biloba, vitamins C and E) 24 hours before the procedure. Patients taking aspirin or blood thinners should not discontinue treatment but should be warned that this may increase the risk of bleeding during the procedure.
The procedure cannot be performed if the patient has a viral illness, cough, sore throat or other signs of a cold. In addition, the procedure will not be performed if there are inflammatory lesions on the face.
Contraindications:
- Inflammatory rash or infection in the treatment area
- Tendency to scarring
- Autoimmune disease
- Haemophilia
- Pregnancy / IVF treatment / breastfeeding
- Active herpes rash on the face (patients with occasional herpes should undergo prophylactic antiviral therapy)
- Previous history of bacterial endocarditis
- Chemotherapy
Risks
Threads are one of the safest and least invasive non-surgical aesthetic procedures.
Most people do not experience any side effects after the procedure and can immediately resume their normal lives with an improved appearance. Reactions are generally minimal and temporary.
Sometimes there may be some redness, bruising or swelling on the face, which usually subsides within a few days to a week. Swelling is necessary for the formation of new collagen. The area of the threads may be slightly sore for up to a week on average. Other complications are rare when threads are properly placed.
After the procedure:
- Avoid facial treatments, massages, saunas, sun and extreme temperatures for up to two weeks
- Avoid alcohol and intense physical activity for 48 hours (for mono threads)
- Avoid intense physical activity for up to five days (for PDO threads)
- It is recommended to come for a doctor’s consultation after three weeks to assess the results. If necessary, the procedure can be improved.
